Founded in 2018, TITTIMITTI® is a family-run U.S. brand offering natural-fiber socks, clothing, underwear, and accessories for women, men, and children.
Our collections bring together organic cotton, 100% cotton, Filo di Scozia mercerized cotton, extra-fine Merino wool, natural silk, cashmere, wool, alpaca, and other carefully selected fibers.
Most of our products are made in Italy, where years of working directly with specialized textile and hosiery manufacturers have helped shape the way we understand materials, construction, and finished-product quality. We also work with carefully selected specialist manufacturers in Turkey and Sri Lanka when their particular expertise is the right fit for the product.
Our aim is simple: bring the feel, materials, and craftsmanship people seek in luxury clothing to the pieces they wear every day—at a more attainable price.
Why We Started
Our family wanted everyday essentials that felt as special as the finest clothing we admired.
We looked for beautiful natural fibers, comfortable designs, and quality we could feel, without paying mainly for a famous label.
Finding those products was more difficult than we expected.
The word “cotton” on a package did not necessarily tell us how much cotton was actually inside.
The word “wool” could describe products with very different fiber compositions.
Two products labeled 100% cotton could feel completely different.
A prestigious country of origin did not automatically guarantee an exceptional finished product.
And a certification could provide valuable information about a defined material, process, or manufacturing system without telling the complete story of how the finished product was designed and made.
So we started asking more questions.
What fiber is being used?
What percentage of the product does it represent?
Where does the yarn come from?
Why was this particular construction chosen?
Who manufactures the product?
What experience and technology are behind it?
And is the finished result something we would choose for our own family?
That search became TITTIMITTI.
We believe a well-made pair of socks, a soft layer, or a warm accessory can make an ordinary day feel better.
What We Have Learned Since 2018
Building TITTIMITTI has taken us much deeper into textiles than simply choosing finished products from a catalog.
Over the years, we have worked with products made from organic cotton, combed cotton, mercerized cotton, Filo di Scozia, extra-fine Merino wool, natural silk, virgin wool, cashmere, alpaca, and other natural fibers.
We have worked directly with manufacturers and suppliers, reviewed material and yarn documentation, developed products, compared fiber compositions, and learned how dramatically the finished result can change depending on the raw material, yarn preparation, knitting construction, machinery, finishing, and people involved.
That experience changed the way we look at clothing.
A fiber percentage is extremely important—but it is only the beginning.
Material + yarn + construction + technology + finishing + human expertise = the finished product.
That complete product is what matters to us.
Materials You Can Feel
Our collections include organic cotton, cashmere, Merino wool, silk, wool, alpaca, and other carefully chosen fibers for women, men, and children.
We select products for their material, feel, comfort, fit, construction, purpose, and thoughtful details.
Some of our organic cotton socks are undyed and unbleached, showing the cotton's natural color. Others come in colors and fiber combinations suited to different styles, uses, and seasons.
For some socks, 100% organic cotton is exactly what we want.
For everyday styles where additional stretch and recovery serve a practical purpose, we offer 98% organic cotton with 2% elastane.
For refined men's dress hosiery, we offer 100% mercerized Filo di Scozia cotton.
For cooler conditions, selected hosiery combines 75% extra-fine Merino wool with 25% natural silk.
For exceptional softness and warmth, we work with cashmere.
For other cold-weather products, wool and alpaca may be the right choice.
We do not believe one fiber or one formula is best for every product.
We believe the product should determine the material.
Material Transparency Matters
One of the simplest principles behind TITTIMITTI is also one of the most important:
Tell customers what the product is actually made from.
A product described simply as a “cotton sock” can have a very different composition from another product carrying the same general description.
The same is true of wool, cashmere, and other fibers.
That is why our product pages give the composition of the specific piece whenever applicable, so customers can understand what they are choosing.
100% cotton is different from 98% cotton.
98% cotton is different from a conventional cotton blend.
A 75% Merino wool / 25% natural silk sock is fundamentally different from a wool sock containing substantial percentages of other fibers.
Our goal is not to tell everyone that one composition is universally better.
Our goal is to provide enough information for customers to understand what they are buying, what it is made from, and why the product was made that way.
Italy at the Heart of Our Collection
Most TITTIMITTI products are made in Italy by experienced textile manufacturers.
Italy became an important part of TITTIMITTI because we found something there that went beyond a Made in Italy label:
deep textile knowledge.
Italy has generations of experience working with cotton, wool, silk, and other fine fibers, supported by specialized yarn manufacturers, textile companies, hosiery makers, and machinery manufacturers.
Through direct relationships with Italian manufacturers, we became increasingly interested not simply in what percentage of a fiber appears on a label, but in everything that happens before a finished product reaches the customer.
The fiber matters.
The yarn matters.
The machinery matters.
The construction matters.
The finishing matters.
And the knowledge of the people working with all of them matters.
For us, Made in Italy has meaning when the materials, textile knowledge, and manufacturing behind the product give that origin real substance.
It is not simply wording we place on a label.
Calzificio Piccinelli – Mazzano, Brescia, Italy
For our Italian hosiery, TITTIMITTI works directly with Calzificio Piccinelli in Mazzano, Brescia.
The Piccinelli family's hosiery manufacturing history began in 1970, when Antonio Piccinelli founded the company that still carries the family name.
The second generation later entered the business, continuing the family's hosiery experience while developing the company through ongoing technological and stylistic research.
Our direct work with Marco Piccinelli combines two complementary areas of expertise.
TITTIMITTI brings our natural-fiber philosophy, material direction, customer feedback, and ideas about the product we want to create.
Marco and the Piccinelli team bring specialized hosiery knowledge—the technical understanding required to turn an idea and a fiber into an actual sock.
This relationship has reinforced something fundamental to the way we evaluate hosiery:
An exceptional fiber does not automatically create an exceptional sock.
The yarn has to work with the construction.
The construction has to work with the machinery.
The product has to be finished correctly.
And someone has to understand how all of those elements should come together.
That is why working directly with experienced hosiery specialists matters to us.
Italian Yarn Expertise – Filmar & Cotonificio Olcese Ferrari
Our interest in Italian textile expertise extends beyond the manufacturer knitting the finished sock.
Selected TITTIMITTI organic cotton socks use yarn from established Italian mills including Filmar and Cotonificio Olcese Ferrari.
Filmar's history began in 1958 in the Brescia area and centers on the development and production of high-quality cotton-based yarns.
Cotonificio Olcese Ferrari's history reaches back to 1904 in Piancogno, Brescia, representing more than a century of Italian cotton-spinning knowledge.
These companies are also connected to Italy's specialized Filo di Scozia / Filoscozia® yarn tradition.
For us, knowing the yarn manufacturer where relevant adds another layer of transparency.
A sock does not begin when a knitting machine starts.
It begins much earlier—with the fiber and the yarn.
Filo di Scozia – A Different Expression of Cotton
Cotton is not one single material experience.
One of the clearest examples is Filo di Scozia, also associated internationally with terms such as Lisle cotton, Fil d'Écosse, and Hilo de Escocia.
Fine Filo di Scozia yarn undergoes specialized preparation including twisting, gassing, and mercerization, contributing to the smooth and refined character associated with this tradition of fine cotton hosiery.
This is why we do not believe the words “100% cotton” alone tell the complete quality story.
Fiber percentage matters enormously.
But so do the quality of the cotton, the yarn, its preparation, the construction, and what happens to it afterward.
We Are Loyal to the Product, Not to One Formula
TITTIMITTI is natural-fiber focused, but that does not mean forcing the same material, factory, country, or manufacturing method into everything we offer.
A fine Italian Filo di Scozia dress sock and a high-organic-cotton everyday sock do not necessarily require the same manufacturing solution.
A cashmere garment does not necessarily require the same specialist as a cotton dress sock.
A cashmere blanket presents different requirements again.
Different products require different expertise.
Our responsibility is not to force every product into one formula simply because it makes the marketing story easier.
Our responsibility is to understand what the product requires and find the right specialist to make it.
When We Look Beyond Italy
Our years working with Italian textile and hosiery specialists helped establish an important benchmark for TITTIMITTI.
But our customers also help expand the collection.
They ask for different fits, sizes, sock lengths, fiber compositions, warmer products, higher cotton percentages, different constructions, and different price points.
When the right product can be developed within our Italian program, we value that relationship enormously.
When it cannot, we keep looking.
Looking beyond Italy does not mean simply searching for the lowest-cost factory.
We look for established specialist manufacturers with the technical capability, material experience, production systems, and recognized international standards appropriate to the product we are trying to create.
That has led us to trusted manufacturing partners in Turkey and Sri Lanka for specific parts of the TITTIMITTI collection.
Italian textile expertise helps shape our standard. Customer needs help expand our collection.
The country may change. The TITTIMITTI standard does not.
We Tell You Who Makes Our Products
We believe transparency should extend beyond fiber percentages.
When appropriate, we want customers to understand who manufactures TITTIMITTI products, where they are made, what that manufacturer specializes in, and why we chose that partner.
That is why we are comfortable identifying manufacturing partners such as Calzificio Piccinelli in Italy, Bolero in Turkey, and Eskimo Fashion Knitwear in Sri Lanka.
These are not anonymous manufacturing relationships hidden behind the TITTIMITTI name.
They are different specialists contributing different expertise to different parts of our collection.
Their histories, manufacturing capabilities, and credentials can be independently researched.
We believe transparency is stronger when important parts of our story can be verified beyond our own website.
Bolero – Istanbul, Turkey | Organic-Cotton Hosiery Expertise
When we wanted to expand our everyday organic-cotton collection with an exceptionally high percentage of cotton while retaining the practical stretch useful for this type of sock, we looked beyond our existing Italian program.
We selected Bolero, an established specialist hosiery manufacturer in Istanbul.
Bolero specializes in socks and related bodywear and operates modern hosiery manufacturing technology for international markets.
Its manufacturing operation publicly identifies credentials and programs including OEKO-TEX®, organic textile certification, Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), Global Recycled Standard (GRS), ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and amfori, depending on the applicable certification and production scope.
Those credentials matter because we were not simply looking for a factory capable of knitting a sock.
We wanted an established hosiery specialist with modern technical capability and manufacturing systems operating within recognized international standards.
The resulting TITTIMITTI everyday socks use a deliberately simple composition:
98% organic cotton.
2% elastane.
The cotton percentage remains exceptionally high while the small elastane component provides the stretch and recovery intended for this particular everyday construction.
The product is different from our Italian 100% cotton hosiery because it was designed to solve a different need.
The manufacturing country changed.
The reason for selecting the product did not.
Eskimo Fashion Knitwear – Sri Lanka | Wool & Cashmere Expertise With German Roots
For our cashmere, wool, and other premium knitted garments and accessories, TITTIMITTI works with Eskimo Fashion Knitwear in Sri Lanka.
We chose Eskimo for a specific reason:
wool and cashmere knitwear are among the areas in which the company has developed deep specialist expertise.
Eskimo's story has European roots. Its heritage traces back to a German family knitting business established in 1870, originally producing knitted gloves and socks.
That knitting heritage later became part of the foundation behind Eskimo Fashion Knitwear's manufacturing operations in Sri Lanka.
Today, Eskimo combines this long knitting tradition with modern manufacturing technology and extensive experience producing knitted garments, hosiery, and accessories, including products made from premium animal fibers.
This combination is particularly important to TITTIMITTI.
Cashmere is not simply another material to us.
The quality of a cashmere product depends on much more than putting “100% cashmere” on a label.
The quality of the fiber and yarn matters.
Knitting knowledge matters.
Construction matters.
Finishing matters.
Manufacturing control matters.
And experience working with delicate premium fibers matters.
That is why, when TITTIMITTI began developing cashmere and wool garments and accessories, we looked for a manufacturer whose expertise matched the material.
Eskimo was selected because of its long knitting heritage, specialization in premium knitwear, modern technical capabilities, and experience working with wool and cashmere products.
Eskimo is also independently identified by The Woolmark Company as a Woolmark licensee specializing in knitted hosiery and accessories.
Its manufacturing operations have worked within internationally recognized textile, environmental, and social-compliance programs relevant to its production and applicable certification scopes.
Those credentials provide another layer of evidence behind the manufacturing environment.
But they are not the entire reason we chose Eskimo.
We choose specialists for what they know how to make.
For fine Italian hosiery, that leads us to specialist hosiery manufacturers in Italy.
For high-organic-cotton everyday socks requiring a different manufacturing solution, it leads us to a specialist hosiery producer.
And for cashmere and wool garments and accessories, it led us to a knitwear specialist with generations of manufacturing heritage behind it.
Different materials require different knowledge.
Find the expertise that fits the product, then make the product earn the TITTIMITTI® name.
Why Different Countries?
We do not believe that the manufacturer best suited to making an Italian Filo di Scozia dress sock must also be the best manufacturer for an everyday 98% organic cotton sock, a cashmere garment, cashmere mittens, or a cashmere blanket.
Different materials require different knowledge.
Different constructions require different machinery.
Different products require different specialists.
Italy remains central to TITTIMITTI because Italian textile and hosiery expertise helped shape our standards and continues to produce an important part of our collection.
When another product requires capabilities outside that program, we look for the appropriate specialist rather than compromise the product simply to preserve one country-of-origin story.
We choose the specialist according to the product—not the product according to whichever factory is easiest to use.
Natural Fibers Meet Modern Textile Technology
Our focus on natural fibers does not mean rejecting modern manufacturing.
Quite the opposite.
Sophisticated textile machinery and technical expertise can be essential to producing refined products from demanding natural fibers.
Modern textile and hosiery machinery can provide remarkable precision and capability.
But a machine does not decide which yarn should be used.
It does not determine the entire construction by itself.
It does not evaluate whether the finished result feels right.
Technology provides capability.
Material provides the foundation.
People determine how the two are brought together.
An exceptional fiber alone does not create an exceptional product.
Neither does an exceptional machine.
Fine textile products emerge when material, technology, and human knowledge work together.
That is one of the most important lessons our manufacturing relationships have taught us.
Certification Matters – and So Does Certification Scope
TITTIMITTI values credible certification, testing, and supplier documentation.
We use them as important sources of information when evaluating materials and manufacturing partners.
Our manufacturing and material partners work with recognized programs and standards including GOTS, OEKO-TEX®, OCS, RWS, GRS, Woolmark, ISO, and other relevant textile, quality, environmental, and social-compliance systems, depending on the manufacturer, material, facility, and applicable scope.
But we also believe certification claims should be precise.
A manufacturer may hold certifications covering particular facilities, materials, processes, or product categories.
That does not automatically mean every product leaving that factory carries every certification held by the manufacturer.
The same principle applies to yarn manufacturers and material suppliers.
A certified yarn does not automatically make every finished product using that yarn independently certified.
There is an important difference between manufacturer certification, material or yarn certification, and finished-product certification.
We believe customers deserve that distinction.
Certifications can help us evaluate materials.
They can help us understand manufacturing systems.
They can provide evidence about defined environmental, quality, textile, or supply-chain requirements.
They can help us decide who we want to work with.
But certification remains one part of a larger equation:
material + yarn + construction + technology + manufacturing systems + people + finished-product evaluation.
Certification can verify a defined standard. Craftsmanship creates the product.

With a family manufacturer such as Piccinelli in Italy, communication can be direct.
An idea, material question, or construction issue does not have to travel through layers of corporate management before reaching someone who understands the product technically.
The same principle guides our relationships elsewhere.
We want to understand who is making the product, what they specialize in, and why they are the right partner for that particular item.
For us, being a smaller independent company is not something we need to hide.

Large international brands have advantages of scale.
TITTIMITTI has a different advantage.
We can remain close to the product.
We can investigate an unusual fiber composition.
We can respond to repeated customer requests.

And we can decide that something is not right for TITTIMITTI and keep searching.
