WHAT IS FILO DI SCOZIA?

Filo di Scozia—also known internationally as Fil d’Écosse or Lisle cotton—is a premium mercerized cotton yarn. Despite the name, “Filo di Scozia” does not mean that the cotton is grown in Scotland.

The yarn is produced through specialized preparation that can include selecting fine long-staple cotton, twisting, gassing and mercerization. These processes create a cleaner, smoother and more refined yarn than ordinary untreated cotton.
