TITTIMITTI® is a family-run U.S. brand founded in 2018. We work with experienced manufacturers and established yarn suppliers to offer socks, hosiery, clothing, base layers and accessories made with carefully selected natural fibers.

From One Family Business to Another

An important part of the TITTIMITTI® story is our relationship with the Piccinelli family, specialist hosiery manufacturers located in Mazzano, in the province of Brescia, Italy.

The Piccinelli family’s hosiery-manufacturing history began in 1970. Their knowledge of yarn, knitting, construction and finishing allows TITTIMITTI® to develop socks that combine carefully selected materials with generations of Italian manufacturing experience.

This family-to-family relationship gives us something particularly valuable: direct communication about materials, fit, construction and product development.

TITTIMITTI® contributes product direction, material preferences and feedback received from customers. The Piccinelli team contributes the technical knowledge required to turn a fiber and product concept into a finished sock.

Instead of treating every product as interchangeable, we can discuss the details that affect how a sock feels and performs:

Why Long-Term Manufacturing Relationships Matter

A factory is not interchangeable with every other factory. Different manufacturers develop expertise in different fibers, machines and product categories.

Italian hosiery specialists understand how yarn selection, knitting tension, toe construction, cuff design and finishing influence the comfort, appearance and durability of a sock.

Knitwear, base layers and winter accessories require different equipment and technical experience. For this reason, TITTIMITTI® works with different specialized manufacturers according to the product being made.

Many TITTIMITTI® products are made in Italy. Selected categories are produced by experienced specialists in Turkey or Sri Lanka when their particular capabilities are appropriate for the product.

The applicable country of manufacture and exact fiber composition are identified on the individual product page.

This approach allows us to select manufacturers for their relevant capabilities instead of pretending that one factory is equally suited to every product.

Natural Fibers Selected for a Purpose

TITTIMITTI® collections include organic cotton, fine cotton, Merino wool, natural silk, cashmere, virgin wool, alpaca and other clearly identified fibers.

Each material serves a different purpose:

  • Organic cotton provides softness and breathability for comfortable everyday socks.

  • Undyed and unbleached cotton preserves the fiber’s natural appearance without added textile color or conventional whitening.

  • Mercerized cotton can create a smooth, refined sock with greater regularity and luster.

  • Filo di Scozia belongs to the tradition of fine mercerized-cotton hosiery.

  • Merino wool is valued for temperature regulation and moisture management.

  • Natural silk can add smoothness and refinement to selected wool blends.

  • Cashmere provides lightweight warmth for premium winter accessories.

  • Virgin wool provides natural insulation for cold-weather products.

  • Alpaca is valued for warmth and its distinctive natural character.

The best material depends on the season, footwear, intended use, desired warmth and the wearer’s preferences. We therefore explain fiber composition instead of treating every natural material as though it performs in exactly the same way.

Traceable Italian Yarn Suppliers

For selected organic-cotton socks made in Italy, TITTIMITTI® works with yarns from established Italian suppliers, including Filmar S.p.A. and Cotonificio Olcese Ferrari S.p.A.

Identifying suppliers helps customers understand that material claims are connected to real companies and documented textile production—not merely advertising language.

Certification claims must also be precise. A certified yarn, transaction or manufacturing stage does not automatically mean that every finished product sold by a brand carries the same certification.

TITTIMITTI® therefore describes certification and sourcing in relation to the applicable yarn, supplier, product or stage of production. We do not claim that the entire TITTIMITTI® brand is certified as one finished-product operation.

That distinction may sound technical, but it is central to honest product communication.

More Than One Organic-Cotton Construction

Not every organic-cotton sock is constructed in the same way.

Selected TITTIMITTI® styles use 100% organic cotton in the main knitted sock fabric. These styles do not contain polyester, nylon, acrylic, spandex or elastane blended throughout that fabric.

On certain 100% cotton styles, a very small natural-rubber thread completely wrapped in cotton is used inside the cuff to help the sock remain in place.

Other TITTIMITTI® styles contain 98% organic cotton and 2% elastane. The elastane provides additional stretch and helps the product recover its shape.

Neither construction should be hidden behind a general phrase such as “cotton socks.” Customers should be able to see the exact composition and select the construction that better matches their preferences.

What Customers Are Actually Paying For

The retail price of a natural-fiber product includes considerably more than its visible material.

Depending on the product, the price may reflect:

  • Higher-quality natural yarn

  • The percentage and grade of the natural fiber

  • Organic or specialized yarn

  • Product development and sampling

  • Specialized knitting and manufacturing

  • Smaller production quantities

  • Finishing and quality control

  • Labels and packaging

Some products use 100% natural fiber. Others combine a principal natural fiber with elastane, nylon, polyester or another functional fiber for stretch, durability, stability or shape retention.
