What Does Virgin Wool Mean?

Virgin wool is wool fiber used for the first time rather than wool reclaimed from previously manufactured textile products. It does not mean that all virgin-wool products have the same feel or construction.

The final character of a wool accessory also depends on:

Everyday Winter Use

These wool accessories are intended for ordinary cold-weather use, including commuting, walking, travel, school, stroller rides and seasonal outdoor activities.

The gloves and mittens are natural-fiber winter accessories. They are not waterproof ski gloves or heavily padded technical snow gloves. For prolonged wet-snow exposure or severe conditions, an appropriate waterproof outer layer may be required.

Wool Care

Always follow the care instructions shown on the individual product and its label.

General wool-care principles include:

  • Use cold water or a maximum temperature of 30°C / 85–86°F

  • Use detergent suitable for wool

  • Do not bleach

  • Do not twist or wring

  • Reshape while damp

  • Dry flat or air dry away from direct heat

  • Do not tumble dry unless the product label explicitly permits it

The neck gaiter should be hand washed. The applicable virgin-wool gloves and children’s mittens may be machine washed cold according to their product instructions.
